This cycling race has been considered the most famous and difficult in the World for over 100 years! Famous because the Tour de France attracts more than 12 millions spectators along the roads each summer and 3 millions in front of their television. Difficult because the 200 best cyclists in the World compete there: the competition is tough to win the prestigious ‘Maillot jaune’.
The mountain stages are the most followed by the spectators because they are the most challenging. ‘Le maillot à pois’ belongs to the best ‘grimpeur’. In the individual time trial stages the cyclists have to set the best time and start one after the other.
Big start from Nice!
The 107th edition of ‘Le Tour de France’ was originally scheduled to start on June 27, but has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
‘The Tour de France’ started Saturday August 29 from Nice, in ‘La Côte d’Azur’, for the 7th time. The city of Nice is writing a new chapter in its history of the ‘Tour de France’, which started there for the first time in 1906.
If you love cycling, French language and traveling in France, watching ‘Le Tour de France’ is definitely for you ! You will discover beautiful regions over a month and 21 stages, from August the 29th to September the 20th. And of course, the last stage of the ‘Tour de France’ will arrive on the Champs-Elysées in Paris.

Each stage of ‘Le Tour de France 2020’ will be broadcast on SBS, from most evenings around (AEST) 8.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. from 29 August until 20 September.
